Just got to thinking that it might be best to explain what I know of what happened to the old Birds of Prey board. Bear in mind, some of it is assumption on my part, but much of it comes from conversations me and Ben had...

Aikioriole - Ben - had wanted to move BoP to a more reliable server for some time. You know, one that wouldn't just keep you from being able to log in for hours at a time. I think when it started posting multiple posts was when he got serious about that.

Apparently, when they went to go move it to the new server - mid September or so - it did not go as planned. After some time spent, it had to be put on the back burner.

From what I heard, during the attempted move, "they trashed the whole thing" and the backup did not work. "They" said they could make it again, but...I don't even want to think about how that felt.

In the meantime, his school has started back up, personal stuff does come up, and there just isn't time to devote to recreating it right now. That's my understanding. I hope Ben doesn't mind me relaying this, but he did say that he feels really bad that the board got dropped...and wishes he had the time to have fixed it sooner.

So, me and V were IM-ing during the playoffs the other night, and she said this invisionfree.com thing was pretty easy. I decided just to mess around with it, just to mess around. But a few hours later, this thing was up, even with all it's blue lines and stuff. So, I decided to go ahead and offer it as a substitute for the time being. (Although yeah, I can see now it's probably gonna take on a life of its own...)

There was a bit of a social faux pas in that regard, because I didn't let Ben know ahead of time that I was gonna actually do this. (Didn't really know ahead of time ;))

Another social faux pas was that this was done right after I'd gotten the message about wildpitchforums. Truth is, I was ready to go there even if it had a Yankee on the front page :o But this just started up so easy....

And so here it is. Hope there's no hard feelings anywhere about it. I'm just so glad people came back.
