it will be a challenge to me as well as others - but one i think worth pursuing.
i have changed the setting to allow no more than one smiley per post. this will require that the words, themselves, and/or photos/graphics convey the desired meaning.
most of you will have no issues with this, having such great command of the language. some of us, however, have a more difficult time expressing ourselves with the same clarity. (and i include myself as one of the worst offenders)
it's an experiment tho...and as soon as it looks like it's failing, if that happens, i'll be on it.
:)
It is with great sadness that I thus note the demise of my favored double-hot-dog exclamation at the end of joyful posts. :hotdog: (one only)
and here, all those months when we would IM and be in chat rooms and you seemed to feel smilies were so superfluous...my dear milt, if anyone speaks with a more silver tongue than you, i've yet to meet him. surely you are the last man to need proliferative use of little happy faces.
but then......i would still expect you to rise to meet the challenge of a one-smiley rule this way. *this* is the milt i know and love and missed so much earlier this year.
and.......
failure.
the limit has been lifted.

Banished? Stricken from the records? A failure or just cut and run?
All seriousness aside, if someone is trying to be funny and can't, the smilies are a great way of letting everyone know it.
