Game 1 of a Twi-night double header.
The Orioles scored single runs in the second and third innings en route to a 2-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians. John Lowenstein and Rich Dauer drove in the Orioles lone runs.
Jim Palmer (1-0) went 5 innings yielding only 5 hits. Palmer did not walk a hitter nor strike any out. Storm Davis pitched the next 2.1 innings and Tippy Martinez went the last 1.2 innings to earn his first save of the season.
Larry Sorenson (0-2) took the loss going 7.1 innings while giving up six hits and the two earned runs.
Side Notes:
Cal Ripken went 3-4 with three singles.
The Orioles managed only six hits (all singles).
There were no extra base hits in the game.
