Title: A Guy the O's Should Target
Description: Dodgers Firstbaseman/Outfielder

Just as D. has us targeting the Phillies Jason Donald, I have my own young player we should go all-out to obtain.

The Dodgers have a young player named Andrew Lambo who has the offensive upside as a Matt Holliday.

The man has hit in every league he's played thus far in his young career.

He can play first base (a gaping organizational hole for the Birds for the past umpteen seasons) or the outfield.

He comes with baggage (smoked some weed in school and got caught) but that can be attributed to poor decision-making as a youth.

I'll try to come up with stats to show what he's accomplished thus far.

:)

I think most of us are guilty of part 1 and lucky enough not to be guilty of part 2.

I personally don't consider that bagage unless Ricky Williams is on his Fave 5.

Bingo. Like I said, get Holliday.

  I think he does. Manuel Noriega too.

The problem with trading for Holliday is in the logistics.

First of all, he'd only be an Oriole for one season.

Secondly, the Rockies would insist on Markakis or Wieters as centerpiece to any deal. If not those two, Tillman's name would figure in trade talks. We need his arm in our rotation (the sooner, the better).

At this point, we can't really afford to take the chance of dealing either for a one-year rental.

Lambo would cost us someone like Arrieta and that's not so high a price to pay to for an impact young hitter who'd solve the first base issue for years to come.

:)

I am not not familiar with Lambo but am not against something like that. As I have said, I like the KC boys at 1B.

IF we signed Holliday it would have to be a multi-year deal. I would have no problem including Wieters. But lets not worry. A comet hitting North America is more likely.
