Links to photos of the new cap are present toward the bottom of today's (Nov 11th) blog on http://www.uniwatchblog.com/

Here's the new cap:

Personally, I don't see much difference or the point in making such a minor change. Will it really sell more caps? I think I like the old design better, but its hard to have much preference. Hopefully, the rest of the changes will be more interesting. Even more importantly, I hope the team changes more than the uniform!

edit: Better make that "sneak peek." I must've been thinking "beak."

Dammit, I bought a new cap last year. Now I'm going to be so uncool with last year's model.

Well, when you have a brand that isn't popular or selling well it sometmes helps to change the packaging. I suppose that applies to sports franchises too.

More on the O's new vines from today's Baltimore Sun.

In fact, the brands makes deeper changes than that, and It is because people wont notice minor changes and the effort will be lost.

Thats regular marketing.

YAY!--In today's Sun article, it mentions that the O's batting helmets will have an orange bill.

BOO!--The O's seem to have gone a bit patch-happy on the sleeves.

The O's have dropped the black hat for the road also. I personally loved the black hat and liked it as the home one years ago. Oh well, change is good.

I do love the new Baltimore Jersey and watching Jim Palmer come down the escalator with it on kind of gave me the chills. The guy still looks like he could pitch. Why they had Burres modeling is another story.

The O's are also using the Black jersey with the Baltimore script on it as a batting pratice jersey and it's eligible to worn in the games as an alternate. We now have the players names on their practice jerseys.

I was mentioned today in The Daily Record after talking with a writer for them, Andy Rosen. He titled the article around my thoughts and mentioned a few quotes from me at the end of the article.

This was not as cool as taking the field with Roberts...but will have to do in November. I was also able to talk with Andy for a while and he was glad to see we are year round O's fans.

On the poor side, Nester got into it with an officer and the officer even told him to "get back, I have a gun". The guy continues to make an arse of himself wherever he goes. For the record he was wearing a Ravens Jacket with Baltimore on the front. A very nice jacket but one only a few wearing Ravens colors for the O's rally.

I was also able to talk with David Steele, who wrote the article for the Sun and Phil Wood the baseball historian.

It was a nice day to be an O's fan!

Booooog! I never get tired of that!

“Wins and losses is really what’s important, but I think it’s important to bring Baltimore back [to the jerseys],” said Jim Marshalek of Baltimore. He said he’d like to see the team sign free agent first baseman Mark Teixeira, who grew up in Anne Arundel County and is one of the most sought-after players this year. “If you put Teixeira in a Baltimore shirt, they’ll get their money back, in my opinion.”

MacPhail also stated that he expected his cell phone to be very busy this weekend.

Tex is definitley worth the second round pick he would cost us not to mention the money is there and it will only generate ticket sales and more interest in the O's.
