Future Orioles fan on the way! Michelle and the baby are through the first trimester, and are doing great! Had an ultrasound today and saw the baby kick its feet, roll over, and I'm not sure but I think it made a fist and raised it in the air. :D

As a footnote, Michelle is left-handed, so the chances of our kid being left-handed seem pretty good. :P

That is great. Congrats to you and Michelle. The births of my son and daughter will always be among my top experiences in life. And if you are even close to fortunate, or you manage to do enough good things as a father, the experience of that birth wil merely grow and expand to fill the years. My daughter is 15 and she and I have a lot of fun together. We do a couple things together, like cook, and her friends all know me and say hello and she is comfortable with me being around when they gather at the house. Not like I join in and argue about which Twilight star is cuter. . . .

There are a couple things that are significant through out the parenting process, but be consistent and reasonable, and stay committed to the right "rules", and have fun exploring who your daughter is, so you can be the father she needs.

Honestly, these are the best days that I can remember having. All of your kind words and advice have given me some things to ponder and aspire to.

As for teaching my kid the knuckleball, she's gonna have to learn it because if arm strength is hereditary, she won't be inheriting any kind of fastball.
