Title: Dagderit!

Start the 2nd-half with a loss. The lineup, never mind but seriously. The break is over, can't steal any thunder, so where the hell is Buck?
Guthrie and Bergesen, if they can't help in the pen, they need to be gone. Time to take a look at some of the Tides. If there's nothing doing, get a good reliever for Tejada.
If I was the manager I would have a hard time concentrating on winning games. Every night I would be working on putting together my opening day lineup and staff. Bench Tejada, no need in taking a chance on him getting hurt.

Here's a bit from TSN
QUOTE
Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that Ty Wigginton and Miguel Tejada have emerged as the Orioles' two biggest trade chips.
Fantasy spin: According to Zrebiec, multiple teams interested in Wigginton, including the Phillies, Yankees and Rangers. He writes that the O's have been talking to the Phillies for "several weeks" regarding Wigginton, but that they also have interest in Tejada. He also adds that the Rangers have a scout in attendance for Friday's game, suggesting that their interest in Wigginton is "legit." It would be surprising if he makes it to the deadline.

That does not offer much. You don't even need to be focused to know Wiggy & Miggy would be getting you most of the calls, aside from Batman, Superman, and Tillman, who no one will be getting.

Evidently McPhail doesn't divulge much himself. Here's a couple of quotes from 6/13/10

QUOTE
"We wouldn't [make trades] just for the sake of moving payroll," MacPhail said Monday, adding that the fire-sale approach isn't something he anticipates at this year's July 31 Trade Deadline.

QUOTE
"The offense isn't there and it's what we have to focus on," MacPhail said. "Not that we won't focus on the pitching as well, but that's an area that we need to do what we can do to augment the pitching."

He talks about Millwood, Wiggy n' Miggy, and of course, the super-heros. Like I said, he offers little, here is the link http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb

One thing I have to disagree with the is the need to focus on offense. Normally I would cheer this notion but the list of players with expiring contracts is barren of what we need, and we don't have the chips to trade for "that" player.
We have Markakis, Jones, Wieters, and hopefully Roberts. Bell and Fox should be playing every inning, every night. As it's been for too long, we need a power-guy. Not that I would forget that, but my focus would be on defense and the pen.
I might lose 110 games next season but I'd have one of the best bullpens in baseball, and make damned few errors. If the super-heros show up, with a good defense, I don't need a lot of runs to beat you.

Since he ain't tellin', we will have to wait and see what he does. I really hope his idea of focusing on offense is not to bring A. Ramirez types, or more Atkins-like had a good year sometime back, guys. If he can't talk big A into signing Dunn, no need to fool with the rest. The strategy that got us here was pitching. I haven't always agreed with it, but this is where we are at. Why deviate now?
