Title: Ripken and the HOF voting

This MSNBC article talks about how Ripken could possibly be unanimus, but probably not. Nothing especially earth shattering here, just mentions how Ruth "only" got 95% of the vote, and some others.

Has quotes from Palmer, Flanny, Schmuck, and Brooks- all of them basically say "well he could be and maybe should be, but he won't because no one else has."

Also, random aside: I found out this morning that as of a couple years ago, the Washington Post writers don't vote anymore cause the company decided they shouldn't. Was sort of surprised by that.

Cal's importance to the game cannot be questioned.

The streak, his work ethic, his two MVP awards, his Gold Glove exploits, the '83 WS title, ROY award.....and no steroids!

I'm sorry, precedence aside, this man should be unanimously elected, first ballot.
