The Orioles haven't announced a corresponding move but it's expected that they'll start Craig Tatum at catcher, use Jake Fox as his primary backup and then call up a position player. Third baseman Josh Bell is one of the top candidates.

Nothing about Craig Tatum excites me. Give Fox a little more catching duty and recall Bell.

Wieters' DL stint likely short Matt Wieters, C BAL News: MLB.com reports that Orioles manager Juan Samuel expects C Matt Wieters to be activated from the disabled list after the minimum 15 days. Wieters was placed on the DL with a strained hamstring on Thursday. Because the move was made retroactive to July 10, he will be eligible to return from the disabled list on July 25. -------------------- TKM 1.57
